Woo-hoo! Did you see all those kids around here during VBS week in June? It was
great to hear their laughter and see them doing crafts, learning about Heroes in the
Bible and in life, playing games, and (best of all) eating snacks, and leaving crumbs on
the floor for me to enjoy! Evelyn Dietz and her team did a terrific job bringing back to
life a much beloved St. Paul’s program. Congrats to all!
A big THANK YOU for all of the donations given for the IHN! Many of the families entering this program come in with nothing, and your donations help them get off to a great start. The table full of donations was an inspiration to the kids at VBS and many of them brought in their own donations during the week. Thanks for being heroes!

The church office will be closed on Monday, July 5, but the Women’s Guild will still
meet that day at 1:30 pm in Fellowship Hall.
With all the storms we’ve had this spring the “Parsonage/Annex/House in back” has
had some water collecting in the basement. The “Monday Men” have installed a sump
pump in there and that seems to be taking care of the problem.
Free DVD’s of all of our Sunday services are available in the church office. If you miss
a service feel free to request a recording of that morning’s worship.
Rev. Bierkan will be out of town with his family July 19 through 25. Rev. Cal Klumb will
be leading worship here on the 25th.
In recent weeks all of the Sunday Morning “Jokes” have been contributed by members
of our church. “Rev” welcomes new material, so keep those cards and e-mails coming!
Melinda Schamer is “booking in” our “Special Music” for the summer. Just speak to
her if you would like to sing, play an instrument, dance or juggle as a feature of one of
our worship services. (Ok…I am kidding about the juggling part. Just checking to see if
you are paying attention.)
Mike Dietz has been giving us regular updates on the Search Committee’s activities.
He speaks during the “Announcements” portion of our Sunday services. So…if you
want to know what the Search Committee is up to…
It sure was hot outside last month. Fortunately our sanctuary’s AC is up to the task of
keeping us cool. Keep that in mind in the hot days ahead.

Members present: Stu Stormer, Lee Walz, Donna Mader, Karey Thomas, Amy Meyer, Fred Losey, Andrew Bierkan and Claudia Chalk

Old Business: Lawn Fete is scheduled for July 31. We will try to get an article in the Alexandria Recorder the week of the Lawn Fete.

Karey has ordered gifts for Father’s Day. VBS volunteers are being lined up. We need to encourage pre-registration. There was discussion of starting up a Youth Group. Andrew is trying to plan a fall trip to Hebrew Union College.
